Bobby Shmurda's gang member gets 98 years in prison


I say oh dear because rapper Bobby Shmurda is set to be tried on the same charges his friend was tried on and he got 98 years. Rashid Derissant was sentenced to 98 years in prison on charges including conspiracy, murder, attempted murder and assault. Rashid was convicted last month and was sentenced this week.

Army repels Boko Haram early morning attack in Sambisa forest


The Nigerian Army today repelled an early morning attack by Boko Haram terrorists while on harbour inside the Sambisa forest. In a statement released by the Army spokesman, Colonel Sani Usman, the troops comprised elements of 21 Brigade and the Armed Forces Special Forces (AFSF) on `Operation Crack Down.’ Usman said the troops while on harbour for refitting, came under Boko Haram terrorists attack at about 1:45 a.m. today.

'Mrs Ndidi Amehia Eleazar, caused a stir on Wednesday on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, when she sat on the bonnet of her car to evade arrest. Accused of biting the thumb of an FRSC officer, she was arraigned before the FRSC Mobile Court. The incident caused a gridlock at the Tollgate end of the expressway.A combined team from the Ota and Agbado commands were on the road with a mobile court to sensitise motorists and prosecute traffic offenders when they noticed the woman driving with a cracked windscreen. The vehicle also had worn out tyres, which the officers categorised as secondary offence.

Petrol would sell N99.38 per litre without subsidy – PPPRA


The Federal Government on Monday said it was currently subsidising petrol at N12.62 per litre.
It said that the subsidy figure was for petrol imported directly by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and dispensed at its retail outlets, while the rate was N12.88 per litre for other oil marketers.
